The use of surgical devices requires adequate expertise and experience in dental implantology, maxillary surgery or other surgical fields, such as diagnosis, preoperative planning and surgical techniques. The doctor decides, under their sole and full responsibility, on the use of MEISINGER devices in practice, on a case-by-case basis and according to the specific situation (indication). Any serious incident occurring in relation to the device must be reported to the manufacturer and to the competent authority of the Member State in which the user and/or patient is established. All Meisinger devices have been developed for a specific use. Consequently, improper use can lead to premature wear of the devices and entail risks for patients and users.Warnings The instructions for use described here, in particular regarding contact pressure, cooling, disinfection, cleaning and sterilisation as well as speeds, must be observed. The instruments are intended solely for their intended use. Failure to comply with the safety instructions may result in damage to the drive and/or injuries, such as thermal necrosis, unwanted tissue dissection, nerve or tissue damage, or infection.Use Care must be taken to use only technically and hygienically functional, maintained and cleaned instruments (turbine, handpiece and contra-angle). Rotary instruments must be clamped as deeply as possible and a check must be carried out prior to use to ensure that the product is perfectly seated in the turbine, handpiece or contra-angle. Rotary instruments may only be used with transmission instruments (e.g. handpiece and contra-angle) that are approved as medical devices and suitable for the intended use. Transmission instruments must have a standardised interface for rotary instruments. The manufacturer's application and safety instructions must be observed. A protective guard is required when using a diamond disc. Improper use of the products leads to increased risks and poor working results. Working with dry materials requires a suction device. For hand instruments, care should be taken to ensure smooth and gentle handling. All instruments must only be handled with protective gloves. Thermal damage to bone tissue caused by rotary parts such as pilot drills, drills or countersink burs must be absolutely avoided (user training, working at reduced speed and with sufficient cooling). In the event of intraoral use, care must be taken to ensure that the devices are not aspirated or swallowed.

Contraindications The products must not be used outside their intended purpose and field of indications. The specified maximum speeds must not be exceeded. Additional instructions regarding the use of trephines The use of trephines requires special precautions. Therefore, the recommended rotation speeds must not be exceeded. To prepare for the use of a trephine, it must be operated in an anti-clockwise direction in order to create a groove in the bone. Then, the trephine is inserted into this groove, and operated in a clockwise direction to be driven deeper. Thus, a prior radiographic check must allow the maximum drilling depth to be verified in order to maintain the required distance from the mandibular nerve in particular. Other precautions to take to spare the nerve: orient the axis of the trephine according to the sagittal plane of the ascending ramus and mill laterally at an angle of 15 to 20°.
